We here at Metheny Insurance Professionals work tirelessly to give back to the community in extended ways. This time we work to help the most vulnerable around us. It is widely known that poverty has a harmful impact on children’s development.  Little babies being born in families that cannot afford their basic needs is, unfortunately, a sad reality in our region and we are trying our best to help them meet their basic needs.

Little Hands Virginia is a nonprofit organization that provides essentials and a little extra love to babies and families in need in the Greater Richmond region. One in three children is economically disadvantaged in the Richmond region, according to Voices for Virginia’s Children.

Based on statistics, almost 40 percent of children live below poverty thresholds. Seeing such a need throughout our region, this organization actively engages with communities across Central Virginia, working with a network of local agencies, shelters, hospitals, and other nonprofits. Their model relies on the donation of items through grassroots community drives and donations.
